Eddie Basden showed he’s more than just a defensive player as he came through with crucial baskets in the fourth quarter to lift Petron Blaze to a 97-83 win over a stubborn Powerade five in the PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday night at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City.
The former Chicago Bulls guard had nine in the Boosters’ final 17 points to thwart a last-ditch stand by the Tigers.

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters stormed out to a hot 14-5 start and never let up, burying the Alaska Aces early and often, 107-100, Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
It was an inauspicious start for new Alaska head coach Luigi Trillo in the opening match of the 2012 edition of the PBA Governor's Cup.

Unbeaten boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. knows he is the underdog in his June 9 bout against Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, but the American fighter insists that he is not concerned.
“I like being the underdog. I’ve been the underdog my whole life,” Bradley said during the first episode of the HBO reality series "24/7: The Road to Pacquiao-Bradley." “I don’t really care what anybody say.”

Orcollo defeated compatriot Alex Pagulayan, 9-8, in the semi-final to set up a finals match-up with Filipino billiards legend Francisco “Django” Bustamante.

Russell Westbrook scored 10 of his 37 points during a stirring fourth-quarter comeback, Kevin Durant added 31 points and hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 13.7 seconds left, and the Oklahoma City Thunder seized control of the second-round series with a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4.
Serge Ibaka scored 14 points for the second-seeded Thunder, who took a 3-1 series lead and moved to the brink of their second straight trip to the Western Conference final.

Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao has accepted the apology of columnist Granville Ampong, whose column stated that Pacquiao quoted Leviticus 20:13 in declaring his stand against same-sex marriage. Pacquiao said he would not file any charges against Ampong.
Ampong said that the quote, “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads,” came from him and not from Pacquiao.

Marquez, who has a win-loss-draw record of 54-6-1 (39 by knockouts), said he has narrowed his choice to Gesta or fellow Mexican Erik Morales, the last fighter to beat Manny Pacquiao.
